I mentioned in an earlier post that we made a mobile for the nursery out of windcatchers. I also later mentioned that after staring at the mobile for a while, we decided it needed a bit more to fill it in. After much discussion we decided to add pom poms to the mix. I used a tutorial I found through pinterest but I tweaked it a bit.
In order to make the pom poms smaller I got three sheets of white tissue paper and cut them half, long ways.
I then stacked the sheets of tissue together and began folding them like an accordion.
When I finished I tied them in the middle by fishing line and left the line really long to accommodate for handing it from the ceiling.
Then I took them and curved the end with scissors. And, finally I pulled the sheets apart on each side of the fishing line and played with them until we got the pom poms pretty symmetrical.
And walah! We are very happy with the results.
