Baby Girl at 36 Weeks

She is still measuring about the size of a honeydew. Next week will be a new fruit... the watermelon. Duh Duh Duh Dummmm... ;)

Major milestones:

  • Baby is about 19 inches long and weighs about 6 pounds.

  • Between now and birth baby may gain about an ounce a day or about half a pound a week.

  • Kidneys and liver have begun processing waste.

  • Lungs are now preparing to mature.

  • Baby now fully recognizes familiar voices.

How's mama doing? Maternity clothes? Oh yes. Movement? I feel mostly pressure and rolls of feet and hands. Stretch marks? Oh yes. Sleep? Although I feel like I'm sleeping really well, by the time I get to work I feel like I could go back to sleep. Not sure if it's because I get up so often to use the bathroom or b/c it's just this part of the pregnancy. Symptoms? Swelling... good gracious at the swelling. It's disturbing. Food cravings? Everything... well except the aversions. Food aversions? No Mexican food! Ick... makes me feel sick as a dog. Labor signs? Not that I know of! What I miss? My slim feet and wearing my wedding rings. Best moment of this week? I mentioned in an earlier post that I am having blood pressure issues and have developed pregnancy induced hypertension. Well, I would have to say the best moment of this week was going to the doctor and her saying the baby can still cook in there for another two weeks and then she will be evicted. I want her to get as healthy and chunky as possible before she enters this world... now we just got to work on this whole breech thing. ;)
