Good Zzzz's Please

One of the most popular pieces of advice I get almost every week is: "Get your sleep while you can."

Well, that is a great idea! Really! I would love to get my sleep... if I could sleep.

Few words can express the feeling of bone-deep exhaustion I feel today. No, I haven't done anything that strenuous. No, I haven't abandoned all caffeine. No, I'm not anemic... had my iron check a few short weeks ago.

There are several factors contributing to my exhaustion. I'm assuming the following have something to do with it:

  • When I wake up, I WAKE UP. I mean... no more stumbling to the bathroom half asleep. I'm suddenly wide awake and take forever to fall back to sleep.

  • This is especially problematic considering I wake up less than every two hours to go to the bathroom.

  • I'm hot. I'm cold. I'm hot. I'm cold. I'm H.O.T. This wakes me up at night.

I guess I should have also included the whole "growing a child" to the list too.

While my intention is not to complain about my pregnancy. I would not trade it for anything. Nope. Nothing. I'm just saying... I would really like to feel energized and get my sleep "while I can."

But I can't.

Help! Any tips?

So, this is the blog post I wrote when I was 9 months pregnant with Bennett. I'll bet you can relate.

How funny! That sounds just like me! Good to know I'm not the only person not getting any sleep in the 3rd tri.
