Nursery Update: Glider & Lighting

As mentioned in my previous post... we finally finished the furniture. Wooo-to-the-hooo! That only took forever. I'm very very very happy with the way it turned out. And, that excitement may just be evenly matched with how happy I am that it is over. All you who enjoy refinishing furniture... Lord bless you. It's not my thing.

So, now on to less tedious projects...

Right now we are kind of in a stall stage. We are waiting on the delivery of our glider that was generously gifted to us. I can't wait for it to arrive! I just love gliders.

In addition to the glider, we are also waiting on the delivery of the light fixture. The light fixture choice was one we mulled over for a while. I originally wanted something like this...

But after searching and searching, we found that the only affordable (by our standards) option was at Ikea... in Atlanta... and they wouldn't deliver it to us. Booo! So we had to move on to other options. Well, long story short, all other white pendant lights similar to the one pictures above that would be delivered were well out of our budget. Therefore, we decided to go a completely different route and landed on a cute little girlie chandelier, like this...

A completely different look than the original light fixture we had fell in love with. Nevertheless, despite my incessant battle against doing anything too ootsie cutsie, I caved with this. It's just so darn cute that I couldn't resist.

So now we sit and anxiously await the delivery truck...

In the meantime, we have decided to not really set up anything in little girl's room until we get the carpets cleaned, which will hopefully be next week.

So that's where we are at! I have a few other little projects going on but will give more details later when my thoughts are much more organized... maybe after a better nights rest. Ha!
