Home Sweet Home

After two years of marriage, J and I have finally settled down and purchased a home. Buying our first home has been both the most rewarding and stressful process of our lives. The home that we settled on was much more than we thought we would ever be blessed with. It was a forclosed property so we had a few more hoops to jump through, but now that we are settled in, I can 100 percent say that it was totally worth it.

I am still working on getting a picture of us with the "SOLD" sign in the front yard. Hopefully I can get that by this weekend. Right now we are in the process of unpacking boxes, swapping out locks, trying to arrange furniture in a house with a totally different layout than we have ever had, and trying to get the house to stop chirping. Yes, I said "chirping."

The family before us installed a rather thorough security system, which we greatly appreciate and hope to use but for now all the alarm boxes chirp.... constantly... every 15 seconds... loudly... in every room. It sounds like we have birds in the house. We have been on the phone with the alarm company, tried everything we know to try and still... chirp... chirp... CHIRP. The alarm peeps said we need to get an electrician out to the house b/c "each electrician sets these things up differently." Oh joy. The chirps dont' bother me very much but they are on J's last nerve.

On a much more pleasant note... our fridge comes today! I'm so excited. Shopping for a fridge was the most fun shopping we have ever done. For once, we both agreed on a color, size and style. I of course had a little more input (i.e. I wanted the easy clean kind that looks like stainless and I wanted a deep set ice and water dispenser so I wouldn't be constantly cleaning up water and ice droplets). I really am thrilled! Boy, am I an adult now... I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new refridgerator. ;) This is a picture of the beauty... isn't she gorgeous?!

Needless to say, we are both over the moon about our home, and I can't wait to share pictures with you soon!

Hooooray!! So exciting :) And that's one wicked awesome fridge. When's the house warming? I'll be there with bells on. I think they'd go well with the chirping.

When do you normally have a house warming? Our furniture and decor by no means fits in this house... so do I wait until we spruce it up or go ahead throw the same stuff up for now and invite people over? What is the proper house warming etiquette?
