Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Approximately 7 months ago my husband was thrown into a part time job- one he never considered a career nor thought himself worthy to take on. From that point on his... let me reword that... our lives have completely turned upside down. In a good way!
In these past seven months I have watch my husband transform into the most passionate person I have ever met. I always new he was passionate, talented and every possible adjective in the "good husband"category. As the weeks passed he became a man on fire for the Lord and dedicated to relating the God's message through worship to as many people as possible.
It has been a long, and often times stressful, road to this point. When Jerrod came to me about 5 months ago to ask if he could take on practically a full time worship leading position at part time pay, I'd be lying if I said I was all for it. "Sure honey! That sounds like a fabulous idea!" NOT! Nevertheless, I had never seen him so sure of something in the 7 years that I have known him. From that moment on, my days have been filled with worshipful melodies and journeys to find "that missing chord" or the "perfect set list" (not the prettiest moments but entertaining to say the least).
June 1st was a complete revelation of so many scriptures that continued to pop up in this journey.
God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:19
For I the Lord, your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, fear not; I will help you. ~Isaiah 41:13
Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9
I shamefully admit that at times I doubted whether his dedication and persistence for a career in music ministry would pay off. But not Jerrod! He was consistently dedicated to his task. He never once doubted his calling. As if his positive attitude was not enough to convince me of the Lord's leading, things began to happen. Amazing things. The Lord provided for us even when there was no way logically the numbers on the checkbook were going to balance out. Three months during this journey we received power bills all with a balance of $0. Yep, you read that right $0. In the month of May my pretty substantial student bill was only $40 because they insisted I had paid ahead. I know what I paid, and I did not pay ahead. I know some of you may think I'm crazy and losing it, but it is for you that I have saved my statements from the past few months. Sitting on our microwave in the kitchen is a bill from Alabama Power that says "No Payment Necessary." I will always keep it there to remind me everyday of the amazing power (haha... get it!?) of my great God!
This post is not only to relay the exciting news that.... yes, he was offered the full time position as worship leader at our church.... but also to relay to who ever is willing to read my measly, little, modest blog that I am so honored to be married to this man and a child of God!
Now that the Lord has utilized my husband as a proof of Galatians 6:9, I would like to challenge myself as well as you to go for it! Let go and let God! I dare you!
