I just got back from Des Moines. I had to go for training with my job. Just so you know, I can completely describe Des Moines in 5 quick phrases, and it will be all you need to know: (1) Very flat; (2) Very windy; (3) Proud of their corn; (4) Great for your hair because of the lack of humidity; (5) Most importantly, everyone is Shawn Johnson crazy. Her face adorns every advertisement for local businesses.

Because I was in Des Moines, in a fabulous hotel, and being fed delicious foods, the diet was pretty much nonexistent. I will say though that I didn't gain a single pound. Very strange!

I hate Northern accents. My trip to Des Moines even more so confirmed that opinion. Highlight of my trip occurred when I got on my flight in Memphis. The flight attendant came across the plane speaker relaying a "Roll Tide." Two minutes later he (yes "he") explained that the flight would not be this warm the whole way to Montgomery because he was (and I quote) "sweating like a stuck pig." I can't explain to you the joy that overwhelmed me and the disgraceful look on Yankees' faces.

Last Saturday I finally got the camera I had been wanting for over a year. I have had so much fun playing with it and can't wait to share with you some of the pictures I take as I learn to master this new totally super awesome Canon Rebel!

I am officially a new (and delayed might I add) fan of the Twilight series. I promised myself that I could never get caught up in a book series about vampires, but some how it happened. My neighbor insisted I try to read the first one and loaned me hers. I can't put it down. This coming from someone who even skips the long articles in magazines because they require too much focus. I am not even half way into the first book and am already hooked. Not quite sure what to think of myself.

I just ran across your blog looking thru the momjob's blogroll..and I had to say..I was a late twilight bloomer too! So good isn't it? I couldn't stop reading, it was like a tractor beam sucking me in!
And I'm jealous of your new camera. Seeing as how I know nothing about photography, though, I couldn't justify getting such an awesome camera.
