Let me start this off by saying that I absolutely love my husband. He is the sweetest, most thoughtful and generous person I know. However, he is not the best housekeeper. He hates to clean, fold clothes, and wash dishes. Now normally this would make me incredibly frustrated, but today the funniest thing happened. We were cleaning up the house, and I decided to pull out the vacuum. Suddenly Jerrod turned to me and claims, "Let me vacuum. I don't mind vacuuming." Now, that right there should have been a forewarning. Never should that kind of excitement come out of a man's voice when discussing vacuuming. But, you know... I decided to just go with it.
Jerrod took the vacuum into the living room and proceeded to vacuum. Apparently the vacuum clogged because a few minutes later I found Jerrod knelt down on the floor trying to clean out the vacuum. He then carried the vacuum outside. Now, I know that I should not complain. I mean after all he offered to vacuum, and then even initiated cleaning out the vacuum. I reluctantly left the front door and decided to let him fix the vacuum. About 5 minutes later I heard a thumping noise. I turn the corner in the kitchen to peer out the front door. There stood Jerrod in the front yard slinging the vacuum tube against the side of the house. Dust and dirt was flying everywhere. Baseball size dust, fur and trash balls were scattered in the front yard. The wind proceeded to scatter the dust balls all around the yard.
I assumed he was going to clean up the dust balls and left him to finished the job he started. About 2 minutes later it hit me. I should probably make sure he does clean it up the dust balls. Neighbors probably wouldn't be too happy to wake to dust balls rolling around in their yard. I opened the front door and hesitantly asked, "Babe, you are going to clean that up aren't you?" "No way", he firmly stated. If I ever did begin to consider him a "cleaner", this reaffirmed he is the best husband, but he can't be great at everything. The cherry on the top came when he turned to me and said, "I mean it will eventually become one with the earth."
Gotta love him!
