Our July 4th in Pictures

Our July 4th wasn't quite your typical, festive, outdoorsy, firework-filled day.  Zoey was under the weather and it rained all day long so we spent our day at home just the three of us.  I decided it would be fun to just snap some pictures throughout the day to document a not-so-typical day spent at home.  We are usually out and about these days but today was so nice... to just unwind and spend with our little family.

Don't know if you can tell really well, but it rained and rained and rained.  Yucky day!

But that didn't keep us from having a little creative fun!  Nothing screams Happy 4th of July like playing with a nativity scene... right?! ;)

It's funny to me how kids find such joy in the cheapest things... this is a box her diapers came in that she colored on all throughout the day.  She had so much fun sitting in it and coloring and playing.

Every occasion calls for fabulous shoes!!!

Yep, we have entered the color-on-everything phase. Note the black crayon on her wall above the left outlet. Luckily we are painting her room soon.  However, I did find a huge spot on my cabinet door in the kitchen where she at some point went to town with a blue crayon.  I've got to keep a better eye on this one.

It's all fun and games...

... until you flip over backwards in a box and your parents sit their laughing and taking pictures.

So I had a little house work to do... the laundry never ends around here.

Zoey Hope, stop growing up!  You are looking too much like a big girl these days.

Time for a little gymnastics with Daddy!

She kept flipping upside down and yelling "Hey Mommy!!!"

Pretty girl... and yes, she stayed in pj's all day.  Why not?!

Barney dance party!!!  Gotta love those droopy drawers.

We got a little festive with dinner by grilling some burgers and having french fries and Rotel dip... So maybe only one of those is technically American cuisine.  Yea, if you were hoping for a cake with a flag on it, you might as well mosey on over to someone else's blog... ;)

Zoey tee-tee'd in the potty four times today!!!  This kid blows my mind.  We are not in any form or fashion potty training. I bought a potty a while back, asked her if she wanted to sit on it every night before bath time and she is now getting to where she asks to go potty.  Crazy girlie!

Zoey loves bath time!

We rounded out the day with a little milk and an episode of Barney... what can I say, we are wild party people these days.

I hope your July 4th was filled with as much love as mine! God bless America!  He sure has blessed us!
