Mother's Day

I never expected myself to get so amped up and also emotional about Mother's Day.  It just never occurred to me before I had Z what an honor it truly is to be a mother, especially her mother.  There were several times throughout the day I welled up with tears of gratitude for the blessing my Lord has given me.  I pray I never forget the amazing feeling of being Z's mommy.

Here are some of my favorite things about being a Mommy:

• Getting to claim Z as my beautiful daughter.
• The look that Z gets when she sees me in the morning or after we have gone a considerable time apart from each other... she lights up and kicks her feet with joy.
• The perspective I now have for how much God loves us that He gave His only son... I simply can't fathom.
• Seeing Z discover, learn and enjoy life.
• Although she only says "Nanananana" when she is upset... I'll take it!
