Baby Girl at 25 Weeks

We have a new food baby!!! Yep, I will have a little eggplant for the next few weeks. For weeks 25-28, little girl will measure from 13.6 inches long to 14.8 inches long, and she will weigh from 1.5 to 2.2 pounds!!!

Major Milestones:

• Baby's hands are fully developed. She can make fists and clasp things placed in her palm.


• Bones are becoming more solid.


• The structures of the spine are beginning to form.


• Blood vessells in the lungs develop.


• Baby's nostrils begin to open.


• Baby's brain cells are maturing... that matched with her ability hear means she is learning to distinguish familiar voices and sounds.


• Babies born at 25 weeks have about a 50% chance of survival... keeping baking little one.

How's mama doing? Maternity clothes? Yes! It is shameful that I am still trying to fit into my non-maternity clothes. It's just hard for this cheap-o to justify buying clothes I will only wear for a few months. Movement? Holy moly yes! She's an active little booger. Stretch marks? I may have the beginnings of one or two (of course not counting those I already had). Sad. Can we call them "love" marks from now on? Thanks. Sleep? UUUGGGHHH. I toss and turn. I'm hot and wake up an hour before my alarm... moving on to the next topic. Symptoms? Oh yes... lots. I feel like I'm starting to get tired again, much like my first trimester. I have heard it starts back in your third trimester, but I have WAY too much to do to feel this tired. I'm hoping it's my sleeping pattern. Food aversions? Doughnuts... I was in a parking lot next to Krispy Kreme this week and got a big ole wiff. Yuck! Food cravings? Everything else. Haha! Since I was placed on prescription meds for my horrible acid reflux, I have eaten my weight in salsa and sandwiches with tomatoes. Yummm... Labor signs? Don't think so. What I miss? Nothing. Honest! I wouldn't trade this for anything! Best moment of the week? The other night I was sound asleep, and J got home late b/c he had practice. I was laying there and awoke to his hand on my tummy. He was giddy... "She is going crazy in there. I just laid my arm around you and could feel her on my forearm. That's crazy." There is nothing sweeter than a moment like that.
