This week, according to
The Bump, baby girl is about the size of a cantaloupe... approximately 6.5 inches long (from crown to rump) and about 10.6 oz heavy (guess the rest of the weight is a food baby, haha). The biggest milestones this week include:
- Baby will begin to recognize mom's voice.
- Her toenails and fingernails are growing.
- Her precious little heart can be heard through a stethoscope.
How's mama doing: Maternity clothes? Only my pants... I can still pull off my tops for the most part, although some are getting a little short in the front.
Movement? On occasion I will feel these weird shifts, almost like these big bubbles are moving around in my stomach. I felt a few little love taps but only about once a day or every other day. My baby's placenta is anterior which basically means that the placenta is between the outside of my stomach and the baby. This kind of stinks because I can't feel quite the intensity of the kicks quite yet and it will take even longer for J to feel them. However, when I'm getting beat up in a few weeks, I'm sure I will wish I could go back to this time when the movement was very soft.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? Sleep is getting much better. For a while there I would toss and turn. I think I've finally settled on a nice cool temperature (poor J) and sleeping positions.
Symptoms? I'll spare you the TMI ones... I do have pretty bad acid reflux, my appetite is beginning to overtake my day and I do catch myself being a little more short tempered than usual.
Food aversions? Cake... bday cake, cupcakes... any kind of cake. Yuck! (Yes, I believe an alien has taken over my body. That, or this baby is going to have my husband's appetite)
Food cravings? This child will come into this world with a cheeseburger or steak in one hand and a large lemonade in the other.
Labor signs? No, thank goodness.
What I miss? Absolutely nothing.
Best moment this week? Reaching the halfway point!!!! In honor of being half-baked, here's a little virtual ice cream for ya...
