Well, nothing screams Merry Christmas like getting your very first speeding ticket. Merry Christmas to me!
This evening I was leaving church, and got pulled over for going 38 mph in a 25mph zone. First of all, did he not see me leaving church? Shouldn't I get some sort of leeway for that... hehehe... TOTALLY KIDDING! Secondly, I thought the speed limit was 35 mph. I have driven on this road since I was 16 years old. I never knew the speed limit was 25mph! Third of all, I am 25 years old. I have never had a ticket, warning, parking ticket, accident, NOTHING! This guy was on a mission. There was no talking to this guy. I thought for sure I would get a warning. Nope, apparently this guy had a quota to meet before Christmas.
And then... As I was turning out of the parking lot and on the brink of tears, I see him with his lights on. I thought that for sure he was about to turn them off. I figured he was just making sure that the whole population of Montgomery, Ala. knew that I had gotten a speeding ticket. Wrong! This guy was pulling over someone else literally a few feet from where he pulled me over. Crazy!
Well congrats buddy, I think you're gonna make it to Granny's for Christmas Eve dinner.
So, with it being my very first ticket I thought for sure I would burst into tears. I teared up a good bit after the fact, but the thing that really caught me off guard was this thought that kept going through my head, "You are going to be in so much trouble." I don't know why, but I initially thought, "How am I going to tell my parents?"
Too bad I have to pay for the ticket, but good thing I'm an adult.
Merry Christmas everybody!

I do the same thing when I get a ticket! I feel so embarrassed and like I'm in trouble. But I have gotten far more than you have obviously!
