Hardwood Help

My husband and I live in an adorable older home. It has these hardwood floors throughout. We desperately need to have them redone. There is barely any finish left on them. However, until we save up enough money for that I was wondering if any of you know of a way to make them shine a little more or at least appear a little less dry? The only options I can think of would make the floor slippery or slimey (sp?)... Help!
