This morning I woke up and let the puppy in the house to play a little before walking him down to the bottom of our backyard (a ritual necessary to guarentee he pees outside). Well, in about 5 short minutes I was bleeding on my legs and had scratches all up my arms. Time for a claw trim!
I ate some breakfast and loaded up Coosa in the car to head to Petsmart for a quick nail trim... HAHAHAH... NOT QUITE THAT EASY. Okay, I love my puppy, and I think he is the cutest thing in the world and pretty much a human being. However, he refuses to get in the car unless you have your hand on his collar, so I spend 10 minutes chasing him around the frontyard. I'm sure our chatty, across-the-street neighbor Mrs. Dott got a nice morning laugh. Once I finally got him in the car, I realized Jerrod had his leash in his truck. I drove to the bikeshop that Jerrod is now helping out at, and no leash. Already 3/4 of the way to Petsmarts and legs still throbbing, I am deadset on getting this little pup's claws trimmed. Of course you can't take your dog in without a leash, so I have to run in buy a leash, run out leash dog, run in get puppy's claws trimmed, and of course I can't get out of there without buy something for the sweet, canine angel. I'm sure people think I'm crazy, as I sit in the isle floor (because that is the only way I can get Coosa to chill out) trying different collars on him to find the best color for his "fur-tones" (hehe). We finally settle on a dark orange collar, similar to the one he already has and make our way to the check out.
A lot harder than it seems! Coosa wants to lick everyone to death and play with every toy. By this time, he is insanely hyper. So hyper in fact he is levitating... yep, levitating! Coosa proceeds to jump up on his back legs and pulls on the leash leaving the front of his body levitating. One old lady even tried to pet him but when Coosa levitated, she turned around as if she never noticed his existence. Finally one of the sales associates grows the courage to come around the counter and love on him. I was so proud when Coosa laid right down in front of her as she pet him. Then all of a sudden, I was completely mortified when Coosa rolled over on his back revealing a little, loving surprise for the nice sales associate. Bless his heart (and her heart), he can't help it. Time to get the puppy fixed!!!
Here I am thinking I am taking a picture. Once, I realized I was videoing Coosa I decided to get him to do the tricks he has learned so far. Isn't he the cutest!!! Now if only I can figure out how to get the video to rotate...
